People Of Import
This project comprises of 9 large format portraits of refugees who are currently residing the Launceston area. The portraits will be accompanied by a story, as told to Benny Walter, describing how each of the subjects came to be in Tasmania. This exhibition is set for opening in mid October 2005, and is being supported by the Launceston Migrant Resource Centre, The Queen Victoria Museum and Art Gallery and Fletchers Fotographics. It is also a major event for Launceston’s 2005 Refugee Week activities.
Currently on display at the Queen Victoria Museum and Art Gallery, Inveresk, Launceston until January 2006
