The imact fires have on a small tourism based town can be deverstating, and Lorne, while not burnt did feel the effects of the bushfires early this year. With most of the town’s income coming in from a massive influx of tourists in January, having the road cut just past the town turned off the normal flood of tourists to just a drip. To get more people down to Lorne over the winter months there are a heap of festivals that happen, I was down to shot images for the upcoming Festival of Performing Arts and ontop of that get a heap of images to show that Lorne is a pretty great place to hang out in those winter months.
This shoot went all over the town and included getting to meet many locals, visit a heap of businesses and really soak up the vibe of the town. it’s so pretty down there… I can’t wait to get back for the festival itself in September.
