Who is this Alan guy anyway?
I’m a Melbourne based photographer that has been clicking with awesome families, businesses, artists, comedians and anyone who needs a photo since 2000.
For all my life I’ve had a camera in my hand and been having photo adventures with people. In that time I’ve come to realise how important a families story is to capture, I’ve become quite obsessed with it.
I don’t believe in saying “cheese” or “smelly socks” because expression in a portrait should be real, we don’t have time to have fake laughter in our world, so that is why we keep things relaxed and fun making even the most camera nervous person have a good time and love the final artworks.
Warning … I’m kinda an UN-BORING Melbourne Photographer when it comes to Family Portraits. I LOVE getting outdoors with families, having fun, playing with the kids, telling bad fart jokes and capturing REAL GENUINE moments.
No boring poses. No bland studio shots. No phony forced smiles. And ABSOLUTELY NO cheesy awkward family photos.
Just your family, being real, having fun … with me and my camera (but not in that weird stalkery way).

How we avoid those awkward family photos from the start
I’m a bit CRAZY when it comes to photography … I believe the BEST family portraits actually have NOTHING to do with the photography and everything to do with the family.
Yes! I am talking about YOU.
That’s why each Portrait kicks off WELL BEFORE way before the camera even comes out. We start with a chat so I can find out more about you and what makes your family tick – what you love to do, places you love to go, the unique relationships within the family.
Consider your Portrait Session a COLLABORATION where we work together to mash that all up and design a session that is all about YOU … and less about me and the camera.
The end result is the most AMZING photographs you will ever own and Dads who realise “well that wasn’t as bad as I thought”!
Getting Started*
To get you booked in, we start with a Kick Starter Pack of $275 to secure your date in our calendar.
This includes a $100 Artwork Credit.
Your Starter Pack patment is due at the time of booking and covers your Planning Session (where we get to know you), Photo Shoot (let’s create awesome photography together) and a personalised Purchasing Session (where we plan what you’re going to do with this photos).
PLUS $100 credit towards the artwork of your choosing.

It's All About Artwork, Prints & Digital Blueprints
Over the last 20 years we have tested soooo many ways of displaying photography and artwork.
And we believe, hands down, the best way to enjoy your photos is up on a wall … imagine your Walls FILLED with happy family memories and milestones that bring you joy every time you look at them.
But Wall Art doesn’t suit everyone!
Owning a Digital Collection (the blueprints of those happy memories) may be more your jam so you can share them with family and friends, create your own artwork or put them on your big tv in a slideshow.
So we do both options.
Most families kick off with a Digital File Collection and use the attached Album or Wall Art Credit towards something special for the wall.
Other families aren’t that fussed about the files and jump straight into the to the wall art and matted fine art prints.
