Ava – Dog Portrait Session

A little share of what I think might be my best dog photo ever* (The one above). Taken this week down at Rickett’s Point in Beaumaris, with Ava — the real star of the session.

Her “dog parents” had one main goal: to get a photo good enough to send to the “grand dog parents” back in Germany. No pressure, right?

Luckily, Ava was more than up for it. Watching her charge through the water, splashing around with that mix of energy and mischief, gave us exactly what we needed. She’s got that perfect balance of cheeky and sweet that makes a photo jump off the screen.

The conditions couldn’t have lined up better — great light, calm water, and a dog that (mostly) listened when we needed her to. Of course, there were a few detours involving sand and Ava deciding she had her own ideas. But honestly, that’s the fun of it. Those little moments of chaos usually end up making the best shots.

By the end, we were all a bit wet, a bit sandy, and more than a bit happy with how it turned out. Totally worth the mess — and one of those sessions that leaves you grinning the whole way home.

*Note: I feel like my current best photo is taken on each of my latest sessions… so while Ava’s shot is great.. it might not last as my fave for long!
