Best School Holiday Games

School holidays are here, and it can seem challenging to keep the kids entertained.

Here is my always-updating list of great games that you can play with the kids, or they can play with each other.

Got any you love? Leave a comment below so I can check them out.

UNO IS UPDATED

UNO has been a classic game for years, I remember playing it with my Grandparents when I was on school holodaus.

Now there are so many versions of the game to make it a bit more interesting and potentially explosive!

Uno Flip – Both sides of the cards are printed with different values on the front. As you play there are cards to flip the deck and flip to the cards in your hand, so the game can take a pretty dramatic turn when everything is flipped over.

UNO No Mercy is just a nasty nasty version of UNO, I say nasty because it includes new cards like Pick up 10. It’s quite common to get over 20 cards in your hand and if you get over 25 you are out of the game. The first time I played this I was out of the game before I even played a hand as I had to pick up 26 cards after a pick up 6 and two pick up 10’s were stacked on to me.

Classic UNO is still great, especially for the younger kids who just need to learn how to play the game before they get into the crazy variations.

EXPLODING KITTENS

I was photogaphing a wedding and the guys had nothing to do so they started to play Exploding Kittens. I’d never heard of it but after watching a couple of games I joined in and got hooked.

As a family we have played this so many times and even got the upgrades, adding new challenges to the game.

Basically, you play the game and swap cards, steel cards, with the aim being the last one standing cause if you pick up an Ebxplodind add it a doDefuse card… you are out!’t have K
