I have a love affair with cake. If i get a bad cake, it makes me sad. This is why I’m always happy when I’m capturing the branding photography for Mietta by Rosemary.
Rosemary Andrews is a bit of a cake queen. As the former head pasty chef of Attica Summer Camp she pivoted in COVID to create amazing home delivered desert boxes. After that she did a pop up shop for a day that had a line around the block and now, as of the end of 2023 she has her own spectacular shop in Malven.
It’s so good that Rosemary was just off for a whirlwind trip to Paris to pick up an award from Laliste1000 World Pastry Special Awards, for ‘Pastry Opening of the Year Award, which recognises impressive newcomers to the global pastry scene. That is BIG!
I’ve been in documenting (and sampling) the shop and cakes since it was an empty shell, now it resembles a jewellery story with the cakes displayed as rear treasures. The shots have gone everywhere, from local food blogs, magazine and even up in Paris.
It’s worth the adventure to visit and to sample. The cakes keep changing so you never know what you are going to find but the staples of the layered carrot cake are so good they are there all the time.
Open Friday – Sunday, 10am – 3pm But you can order and pick up full cakes and also the amazing cookies everyday. You just have to order ahead. via the website.
