I had the best and unexpected location formy shoot with the Penney family. Initially we had arranged to meet in a park in the city, but at the last minute the location was changed to a big pile of dirt somewhere out the back of Exeter. This wasn’t just any big pile of dirt, it was the Penney’s big pile of dirt. The family is involved in supplying gravel and sand to industries about the state, so it made scense to head up there for the big family portrait.
There were so many people to shoot, kids and adults. We all got very dirty… black really worked to make everyone stand out, but after about half an hour, everything had a white tinge to it!
This give you a little bit of scale of how big the pile of sand is.
Nothing like a dozer as a prop!
And yes, he did take flight!
