It was when we were coming out of Covid lockdowns in 2022 that I came up with the Barkology idea.
There were a heap of family sessions happening, with people catcjig up on those missed years. And half the time when the viewings were happening, there was regret that they hadn’t included their dogs in the photos.
Around the same time I was in contact with The Kids Cancer Project and they were mentioning how they were down in donations due to a heap of their fundraisers being cancelled.
That’s when it hit me, put together a photo book of kids and their dog siblings, add in some stories about them and tie it in with raising money for TKCP.
I’m currently working on book three in the Barkology Series. In total, I’ve photographed 128 kids with 79 dogs and raised $4867.
Grace, Phoebe and Beau are one of the latest shoots from the current project. Beau is a 1-year-old gentle giant who loves playing with his sisters. The water and beach seem to be everyone’s happy place… and with the water being so warm at the moment, of course, that’s where we ended up!
